We do NOT prefer any heavy makeup on any contestant. A contestant MAY have points
deducted if they do not follow the above standards.

THIS IS NOT A GLITZ PAGEANT. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING "FAKE" SUCH AS SPRAY TANNING, TEETH FLIPPERS, WIGLETS, ETC. AND NO VENDORS FOR ANY PRODUCTS OR PAGEANT SERVICES ARE ALLOWED AT OUR EVENT. NO SOLICITING OF ANY PAGEANT OR PAGEANT RELATED SERVICE IS ALLOWED. NO HAIR/MAKEUP PERSONNEL IS PROVIDED OR NEEDED. DISQUALIFICATION OR POINTS MAY BE DEDUCTED IF THESE GUIDELINES ARE NOT FOLLOWED. TV SHOWS THAT DEPICT THE "PERFECT" PAGEANT GIRL IS NOT WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AT DREAM GIRLS USA.
STRIVING TO BE CONFIDENT IN SHOWCASING YOUR OWN UNIQUE ABILITIES IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS AT OUR PAGEANT PROGRAM. EVERY INDIVIDUAL ATTENDING OUR EVENTS IS TO TREAT OUR PAGEANT AS A POSITIVE FORUM FOR REAL GIRLS WHO CAN SHOW THEIR INNER BEAUTY AND CONVEY THEIR PERSONALITY IN ALL EVENTS AND IN ALL THEY DO!!! ALL QUEENS NO MATTER WHAT TITLE THEY HOLD MUST CONDUCT THEMSELVES GRACIOUSLY AND AS ROLEMODELS AT ALL TIMES. PARENTS ARE TO SUPPORT EVERYONE AROUND THEM AND FOLLOW OUR GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP RULE.

Spokesmodel (Required event - AGES 4-UP ONLY)
This is the event where finalists prepare a brief introduction under 1 minute to tell all about yourselves. Finalists wear the official DREAM GIRLS U.S.A. LOGO Royal purple T-shirt with white bottoms and white socks/tennis shoes or simple low heeled white/clear shoes for older contestants. Judged on speaking ability for age, poise and personality. Be yourself and be enthusiastic! Spokesmodel event is in a private room with the panel of judges.Only parents/chaperones of ages 4-6yr may accompany the contestant for Spokesmodel. You may decorate your t-shirt for fun and this is optional which has no bearing on your speaking score.
FORMALWEAR (Required event - ALL AGES PARTICIPATE)
This is the event where finalists show your poise, personality and beauty wearing a fancy pageant dress or gown of their choice on stage. Ages up to 9yrs may wear either a short, tea length, or long dress. Ages 10-up must wear a long dress. Finalists enter stage at X1 and continue to each X pausing briefly and/or doing a slow turn. Judged on personality projection, facial beauty, fit and style of garment, poise and overall appearance AND Smile! Your M/C sheet will be read while you are on stage so please complete the entry form CLEARLY and FULLY as we want to tell everyone all about YOU!!! You will be given an EMCEE sheet that you will BRING WITH YOU to the stage and it must be filled out neatly with your complete address and e-mail information also. Pause at X5 and/or nod your head in acknowledgment before exiting. The names of ALL your sponsors will be read while you are on stage. Time Limit: 1 MINUTE. PLEASE NOTE: WE CANNOT REGULATE THE STYLE OF YOUR DRESS OR HOW MANY "STONES" YOU MAY or MAY NOT HAVE ON YOUR GARMENT. OUR RULES STATE YOUR DRESS IS YOUR CHOICE, SIMPLE OR FANCY. WE ARE NOT A GLITZ PAGEANT, BUT THE DRESS STYLE IS YOUR CHOICE. REMEMBER TO WEAR THE DRESS, DON'T LET THE DRESS WEAR YOU! CHECK OUT ALL OF OUR SLIDESHOWS TO SEE WHAT THE GIRLS WEAR! YOU WILL SEE ALL STYLES, COLORS, FABRICS, ETC.
*Note* BABY/TINY MISS contestants are brought on stage and WILL BE INTRODUCED BY THE EMCEE for all events and all contestants wear a fun and fancy party/pageant dress... Have fun, smile and show off your personality little ones! ALL styles and lengths of dresses are acceptable, from short cupcake dresses to flower girl styles to long dresses. *NOTE* Parents/Chaperones bringing children on stage should be dressed appropriately and please remember you are bending over or bending down to help guide your child...Time Limit: 1 minute. In addition, your Baby/Tiny Miss is NOT expected to be a "MODEL" for the fun modeling events. Have fun, have them smile, blow kisses, and SHOW PERSONALITY!!!
THE BELOW EVENTS ARE CALLED THE "OPTIONALS". THESE MUST BE ENTERED FOR ANY AGE GROUP TO HAVE YOUR SCORES TABULATED FOR THE BABY/TINY, AGES 4-12YR, AND 13-UP YR HI-POINT OVERALL CHAMPION NATIONAL TITLES!!!
THE OPTIONALS ARE A GREAT WAY TO HAVE FUN AND TO WIN MORE AWARDS
OR VIE FOR THE COVETED OVERALL HI-POINT QUEEN TITLES!
*NEW* THE OPTIONALS HAVE CHANGED! TALENT IS NOT REQUIRED TO COMPETE FOR THE HI-POINT OVERALL TITLES. YOUR 3 OPTIONAL SCORES WILL BE ADDED IN FOR FINAL SCORES COMPARED TO ALL THE OTHER CONTESTANTS IN YOUR AGE RANGE.
EACH OPTIONAL IS $100.00 AND INCLUDES YOUR SUPREME OVERALL TITLE FEE!
PHOTOGENIC PRINT MODEL, (ALL ages participate)
PHOTOGENIC IS YOUR HEAD AND SHOULDERS PHOTO OR CAN BE 1/2, 3/4, OR FULL LENGTH PHOTOS.
Judges score photo(s) on Personality projection, clarity of photo, overall photogenic qualities and modeling potential. Contestants may submit up to 6 total photos. Can be black/white or color photo and only natural photos accepted. *NEW* ALL PHOTO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE E-MAILED IN JPEG FORMAT TO THE NATIONAL PAGEANT OFFICE WITH NAME, STATE AND PROPER AGE GROUP BY THE DEADLINE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO E-MAIL PHOTOS, YOU WILL MAIL YOUR PHOTOS ON DISC BY THE DEADLINE.
AFTER THE FIRST PHOTO OPTIONAL IS PAID, EXTRA PHOTOS CAN BE ADDED FOR $25 PER PHOTO UP TO 5 ADDITIONAL PHOTOS.
ALL photo entries SHOULD be sent together at one time to the appropriate e-mail accounts under "National deadlines". Photo events
are the EASIEST part of any competition. Get your top shots ready and submit a variety for best chances to score big!
FASHION RUNWAY MODEL (ALL Ages participate)
Contestants wear a unique and fun FASHIONABLE off-the-rack outfit. Your attire CAN be slacks and jacket, skirt and top, fun dress, pantsuit, OR anything you would wear to a social occasion or a party. Modeling should be simple and show off your outfit and personality! Model like you are in a fashion show! Also judged on personality projection, stage presence, eye contact, ability for age, and appearance. Work the runway to our upbeat music and show off your individualityt! NO pro-am routines, NO blue jean denim, NO sports attire, NO western wear, NO swimsuits and NO custom made glitz outfits. PROPS: ONLY hats, scarves, jackets or perhaps glasses should be your props. IF you wear sunglasses, you need to take them off by the MIDDLE back X as you come down the runway to present yourself to the judges. NO umbrellas, backpacks, purses, teddy bears or dolls, signs, etc. Time Limit: 1 minute.
STAGE CONFIGURATION IS TO BE FOLLOWED... STANDARD 5 X "T- STAGING". THIS MEANS START AT X1 AND CONTINUE TO EACH X
UNTIL FINISHED. FOLLOW THE TIME LIMIT OF 1 MINUTE. THE EMCEE WILL PROMPT YOU AT THE 1 MINUTE MARK.

Contestants wear a more SIMPLE, fun every day off-the-rack outfit. Your attire will be something featuring DENIM/JEANS, part or all. Modeling should be simple and show off your outfit and personality! Model like you are in a fashion show! Also judged on personality projection, stage presence, eye contact, ability for age, and appearance. Work the runway to our upbeat music and show off your individualityt! NO pro-am routines, NO sports attire, NO glitz western wear, NO swimsuits and NO custom made glitz outfits. PROPS: ONLY hats, scarves, jackets or perhaps glasses should be your props. IF you wear sunglasses, you need to take them off by the MIDDLE back X as you come down the runway to present yourself to the judges. NO umbrellas, backpacks, purses, teddy bears or dolls, signs, etc. Time Limit: 1 minute.

TALENT ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR (AGES 4-up ONLY)
Fee is: $100.00 and INCLUDES the Supreme Overall title fee!
TALENT SUBMISSIONS WILL BE SUBMITTED FIRST TO THE NATIONAL OFFICE. MORE INFORMATION COMING SOON.
Keep talents at or under 1 1/2 minutes. Judged on personality and showmanship, entertainment value, ability and difficulty for age as well as overall appearance. Participants MAY ONLY SUBMIT OR PERFORM 1 TALENT. Finalist at Nationals must NOT leave the stage during their talent to go into the audience and NO "live" props may be used. ONLY talents such as gymnastics/martial arts routines may have a spotter on stage. All music must be on a high quality CD, properly labeled with name, age group and contestant number.
Plan NOW to have your talent music on a professional CD and at or UNDER 1 1/2 minutes. Only YOUR ONE song MUST be on the CD or it will NOT be accepted at Nationals. We have purchased ALL necessary microphone equipment. You may bring your own lapel or headset mic, but we cannot guarantee it will coincide with our equipment. ANY/ALL props must be quickly brought on and off the stage by contestant or their family. Our Queens will help with mic set ups, but will not be responsible for handling ANY Talent props. It is your responsibility to make sure the mic is ON.
At REGISTRATION IF YOU ARE A FINALIST, you will turn in your CD and the proper EMCEE form. You MAY test your CD. The Jefferson Ballroom will be OPEN for practice time. Be considerate if others are waiting to practice. Upon completion of your practice, exit the stage and let another contestant have their practice time. TOP ENTERTAINERS WILL BE ON THE ULTIMATE STAGE IN THE GRAND BALLROOM.
